Josh D’Amaro named Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company has announced a major leadership transition, naming Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 18, 2026, when he will succeed longtime CEO Robert A. Iger. The decision was approved unanimously by Disney’s Board of Directors. D’Amaro, a 28-year Disney veteran, currently leads the company’s largest business segment, which generated $36 billion in revenue in fiscal 2025.

Dana Walden: President and Chief Creative Officer

At the same time, Dana Walden, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, has been appointed President and Chief Creative Officer, a newly created role. Walden will report directly to D’Amaro and oversee creative strategy and storytelling across the company’s businesses. Robert Iger will remain with Disney as Senior Advisor and a board member until his retirement at the end of 2026.

The leadership changes follow a multi-year succession planning process and come as Disney seeks to build on recent restructuring efforts, expand its global theme park business, strengthen streaming profitability, and reinforce its creative leadership amid industry disruption.
