Karrot Entertainment launches Karrot Kids ahead of MaeBee debut

Independent animation studio and IP owner Karrot Entertainment has launched Karrot Kids, a new dedicated commercial division focused on licensing, consumer products, brand partnerships and content distribution.

Debut for preschool series MaeBee

The launch comes as Karrot prepares to debut its new preschool series MaeBee this autumn on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. The series follows Mae, a curious young gnome, and her foster brother Bee as they explore the natural world through imaginative adventures, with themes including family, friendship, growing up and discovery.

52 seven-minute episodes

MaeBee comprises 52 seven-minute episodes and is produced by Karrot Entertainment in partnership with Kavaleer Productions. It has been commissioned by CBeebies, France Télévisions and RTÉ, while ABC has acquired broadcast rights for Australia. France TV Distribution will handle global distribution in non-English-speaking territories, with Karrot retaining English-language territories and global licensing rights. Puffin holds the global publishing rights.

Karrot Kids will initially focus on securing licensing partners for MaeBee across toys, games, apparel, home, lifestyle and other consumer products. The division will also explore opportunities for established properties including Sarah & Duck.

Karrot Kids is inviting prospective licensees, retailers and publishing partners to meet with the team at Brand Licensing Europe 2026.
