Kids Preferred and Toho International announce Godzilla licensing deal

Kids Preferred announced an exciting new licensing agreement with Toho International for one of their biggest and most historic IPs: Godzilla, the King of Monsters! This timeless icon of cinema is as relevant as ever, with a huge resurgence in popularity thanks to 2023’s Godzilla Minus One, 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Followers of the gargantuan, reptilian icon are also highly anticipating the newly announced Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, slated for release in theaters for 2027. 

Plush and assorted soft toys

Kids Preferred is now planning to produce a line of stylized plush and assorted soft toys for launch in retail and online in Spring of 2026. Godzilla has had a long and storied career battling fellow kaiju, and thus Kids Preferred is designing these plush to appeal to collectors of all ages!

Expansive range of characters

Starting with Godzilla in 1954, the enduring franchise had remained a powerhouse in pop culture well into the modern era. In fact, Godzilla’s rampage shows no signs of slowing down with the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova coming in March 2027, itself a continuation of the modern box office franchise phenomenon Godzilla x Kong. With the expansive range of characters and lore, Kids Preferred is energized at the opportunity afforded to them through their agreement with Toho International to produce some truly epic plush toys. Kids Preferred is grateful and excited for the chance to work on such an in-demand IP, with fans all over the world and spanning across generations.

Kids Preferred’s new Godzilla soft toys and plush are planned for release in Spring of 2026.
