Kind + Jugend Innovation Award 2026

The Kind + Jugend Innovation Award is once again honouring particularly innovative new products and further developments in the baby and toddler equipment sector.

Intensive expert evaluation

The award ceremony is a regular highlight of Kind + Jugend. Before the awards are presented, the submitted products undergo an intensive and expert evaluation by an international and independent jury made up of experts from the baby and toddler market. The jury evaluates the products with a focus on innovation, safety, customer benefit and sustainability.

At the 2026 edition of Kind + Jugend, 80 products from 23 countries were submitted for consideration. From this field of entries, the international trade jury nominated 20 new products and selected six winners of the Innovation Award.

Sustainability was given greater importance

Sustainability was given greater importance in the evaluation process in 2026. Rather than being treated as a separate category, sustainability was considered as a cross-category criterion for all entries.

The awards were presented during a ceremony in the Europasaal on the first day of the trade fair on September 15.

“Midwives’ Choice” award

In addition to the Innovation Award, the special “Midwives’ Choice” award was presented again in cooperation with Hebammen-testen.de. All products submitted for the Innovation Award were eligible for this additional distinction. Three products were selected by a midwives’ jury based on their characteristics and product benefits. Hebammen-testen.de has been a cooperation partner of the Kind + Jugend Innovation Award since 2023.

The annual Innovation Award has been organised in cooperation with diefarbenull since 2014.
