Landmark Cinemas Teams Up with Too Good To Go to Cut Food Waste and Offer Discounted Movie Snacks

Landmark Cinemas, one of Canada’s leading movie theater chains, has partnered with Too Good To Go, the world’s largest surplus food marketplace, to tackle food waste and provide moviegoers with discounted snacks. This innovative collaboration, launched in July 2025, enables cinema visitors in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario to purchase “Surprise Bags” of surplus, yet perfectly good, snacks via the Too Good To Go app.

For just CAD 7.99, customers receive snacks valued at CAD 24, including favorites like nachos, popcorn, cookie bites, and hot dogs. A larger bag, priced at CAD 10.99, offers up to CAD 33 worth of snacks, with the possibility of pizza and pretzels. These bags are reserved through the app and picked up at participating theaters, making Landmark Cinemas the first Canadian cinema chain to join the Too Good To Go movement.

The partnership not only offers consumers affordable treats and a fun surprise element but also supports sustainability by reducing food waste and associated CO₂ emissions. Since its Canadian launch in 2021, Too Good To Go has saved over 10 million meals from landfill, demonstrating the impact of such collaborations in the leisure sector.
