Lego unveils castle set and murals to celebrate 100 years of Disney
Presented by the Lego Group, the nearly 5,000-piece new Disney Castle set pays homage to the iconic castle featured at the beginning of every Disney movie.
The building set not only consists of the castle with numerous rooms, such as the ballroom, dining room and secret tower, but also includes references to
14 Disney movies from the last 100 years and a total of 8 miniature figures.
The Lego Disney Castle set will be available in Lego stores and on lego.com starting July 4.
To celebrate the launch of this new set, London artist Lakwena Maciver unveiled a mural made of 220,000 Lego bricks. It is in the shape of a castle window and
inspired by the many storytelling possibilities of the new LEGO set.
Maciver's artwork is part of a four-part series of murals created with two other artists, Amy Jones of Paris and Kristin Texeira of the United States.
The four complete murals will then be on display at Lego House in Billund starting August 23.
