Lilo and Stitch succeed over Tom Cruise
Disney's live-action remake of Lilo and Stitch and Tom Cruise's latest and likely final Mission: Impossible had a record-breaking weekend at the box office, making them two of the most successful films of the year.
Lilo and Stitch exceeded all expectations with worldwide box office takings of 341 million dollars (252 million pounds).
This made the film the second-highest box office result of 2025 after A Minecraft Movie, reports Variety, and broke the record for Memorial Day weekend in the USA.
Hot on its heels: Mssion: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, with 190 million dollars (140 million pounds).
