Marco Balsamo named President and CEO of TeamTO

Marco Balsamo will assume the position of President and CEO of independent European animation studio TeamTO following its acquisition by RIVA Studios Productions SRL in December 2024. He will oversee the executive and creative functions and position the studio for growth in a rapidly evolving animation industry.

Important step

Italian production company RIVA Studios has teamed up with Lex & Otis' Jay Oliva and investor Peter Bekkerman to form a new ownership group with the sole aim of securing the studio's long-term future. The acquisition coincides with TeamTO's 20th anniversary and is an important moment in its history.

Expanding its creative slate

Under its new leadership, TeamTO will expand its creative slate, blending its legacy of acclaimed children’s animated series like Angelo Rules and Jade Armor with a lineup of original IPs from RIVA, broadening its reach into adult animation and 2D animation. The studio is currently developing Akira’s Flying Wheelchair, Junichiro Jackson, Yellow Cello and the Sea of Memories,The Adventures of Amir Hamza (based on the legendary South Asian epic), Cradle: Unsouled, Era: The Legend of Lugh and Corvus Belli’s Infinity: Paradise Lost.
