Mattel appoints Roger Lynch as Chairman and CEO

Mattel has appointed Roger Lynch, a current member of its Board of Directors and Independent Lead Director, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Lynch became Chairman on 2 October 2026 and will assume the role of CEO by 2 November 2026.

He succeeds Ynon Kreiz, who stepped down as Chairman and CEO on 2 October 2026 to take a senior leadership position at another public company. Mattel has appointed current board member Diana Ferguson as its new Independent Lead Director.

Lynch has served on Mattel’s Board since 2018 and brings leadership experience across media, technology and consumer businesses. He has been CEO of Condé Nast since 2019, where he led the company through significant change, including the unification of global operations and the expansion and tailoring of IP monetisation opportunities.

His career has also included CEO roles at Pandora, Sling TV, Video Networks International and Chello Broadband, giving him experience in building and scaling global consumer businesses at the intersection of media and technology.

Mattel said Lynch’s appointment follows a comprehensive succession planning process. The company’s Board thanked Kreiz for his eight years of leadership and his role in transitioning Mattel from a toy manufacturer into an IP‑driven play and family entertainment company.

Lynch said he was honoured by the Board’s confidence and expressed his enthusiasm about leading Mattel and building on the company’s brands, people and culture.
