Mattel launches new Brave Barbie and first-ever Brave Ken dolls

Mattel unveiled the newest Brave Barbie dolls and the first-ever Brave Ken doll, timed to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Since its introduction in 2013, Brave Barbie has stood as the only toy in the world created and distributed exclusively through nonprofit partners, with over 120,000 dolls placed in the hands of children to date.

Brave, strong and beautiful

In partnership with more than a dozen nonprofit research and care partners, 10,000 dolls will be distributed to children fighting cancer or autoimmune diseases worldwide, offering comfort and a reminder that they are brave, strong, and beautiful. This year, the program enters a powerful new chapter with its first-ever global expansion, made possible through partnerships with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), Starlight Children’s Foundation, CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, and other international organizations such as Koala Kids, Save the Children, Fundación Teletón and In Kind Direct dedicated to supporting children and families in need.

Versatile accessories

The new Brave Barbie dolls are available in two skin tones in fashion-forward outfits and come with five versatile accessories: headphones, a hat, a headband, a rooted wig, and a customizable sticker pack. To ensure even more children feel represented, the Brave Ken doll also features a rooted wig, expanding the possibilities for self-expression and play.
