McDonald's launches 'The Little Mermaid' Happy Meal

The "Little Mermaid"-style Happy Meal campaign includes, in addition to collectible toys from the universe of Ariel, a national television spot in the United States.

For the spot, McDonald's is partnering with Rhonda "Coach Rho" Harper, founder and executive producer, on behalf of Black Girls Surf, to highlight the multi-award winning training camp for competitive athletes and the non-profit organization. In doing so, future female surfers should be supported and the spot, is meant to be a reminder of the importance of believing in yourself and being the change you want to see in the world.

As part of its ongoing commitment to community programs, McDonald's donated money to Black Girls Surf to support the next generation of competitive surfers and will host a special "The Little Mermaid" screening for Black Girls Surf members to see such an iconic role played by someone like them on the big screen.

"At McDonald's, inclusivity, imagination and joy are in the DNA of every Happy Meal," said Jennifer "JJ" Healan, vice president, U.S. marketing, brand, content and culture, McDonald's. "For years, we've partnered with Disney to bring the magic to life every day. 'The Little Mermaid' Happy Meal is an extension of that collaboration, where even more fans will find themselves embracing the profound possibilities and feeling encouraged to dream big and make waves."

The collectible figurines in the form of Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian and their friends is available for a limited time and while supplies last at participating restaurants across the country.
