Millions of counterfeit toys seized  

As part of the fight against intellectual property crime, Operation LUDUS III, authorities seized more than 19 million counterfeit and unsafe toys worth around €79 million.

The operation was coordinated by Europol, the European Union's police agency; it ran from October 2022 to the end of February 2023. 

DVSI supported the operation alongside TIE.  Europol presented the results at a meeting in Frankfurt on Monday last week. 

During the meeting, Europol also gave the go-ahead for a fourth edition of the international law enforcement operation. 

DVSI toy safety expert Stefan Ackenheil took part in the meeting.
