MINISO to bring largest-ever YOYO art exhibition to New York City
Global lifestyle retailer MINISO has announced that it will stage the world’s largest YOYO art exhibition at The Oculusin New York City from June 20 to July 18. The event marks the first time that MINISO’s proprietary YOYO intellectual property will be showcased in a public space in North America, representing a significant milestone in the brand’s international IP expansion strategy.
50 life-sized YOYO figures
The exhibition, titled “YOYO Small Yet Significant,” will feature 50 life-sized, five-foot-tall YOYO figures alongside a giant 40-foot inflatable installation. Visitors will be able to explore displays based on both classic and newly released YOYO collections, as well as special designs created in collaboration with artists, creators, fans, and local community groups. The project is intended to transform YOYO from a character into a platform for community participation and creative collaboration.
Companionship, joy, and everyday experiences
Originally introduced in 2025, YOYO is a proprietary character developed by MINISO that celebrates themes of companionship, joy, and everyday experiences. Recognizable for its pumpkin-shaped head and minimalist design, the character has quickly gained popularity among consumers worldwide and has become a central part of MINISO’s growing IP portfolio.
Highlight the small but meaningful moments
According to the company, the exhibition aims to highlight the small but meaningful moments of everyday life through large-scale public art. By bringing YOYO into one of New York City’s busiest landmarks, MINISO hopes to create a shared experience that encourages visitors to rediscover simple moments of happiness, warmth, and connection.
The exhibition forms part of MINISO’s broader strategy to expand its proprietary intellectual properties globally and further develop its position as an IP-driven lifestyle brand. The company stated that it will continue exploring new ways to bring its “Life is for Fun” philosophy to audiences around the world through immersive experiences and creative initiatives.
