MrBeast wants a Naruto remake and would even help fund it
Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is speaking up to pitch a major anime remake. After @AniTVOfficial shared a quote from the Wit Studio CEO about the upcoming remake of One Piece, Donaldson replied in all caps that he wants a remake of Naruto and would even help fund it.
Strong connection to Naruto
Donaldson has a strong connection to Naruto, which played a role in the rise of his YouTube channel, now boasting 472 million subscribers and expanding into the Amazon Prime reality show “Beast Games.”
His first major breakthrough in 2017 was also inspired by anime. He explained that although Naruto has around 700 episodes, he didn’t feel he had the time to watch it all, which led him to think of a way to earn money while watching.
This idea resulted in his well-known video “I Counted to 100,000!”, originally 40 hours long and now with 33 million views. While it appears he is just counting on camera, he later revealed he was actually watching anime the entire time—essentially getting paid to watch it.
Collaboration with the franchise
His connection to Naruto goes further. He recently collaborated with the franchise on a merchandise collection. In an Instagram post, he called Naruto the best anime ever made and expressed surprise that the collaboration happened. The collection, available in the MrBeast Store, includes jackets, T-shirts, hoodies, and hats.
