Neopets reveals new leadership team and roadmap
Neopets, the virtual pets brand, has released a new strategy for the company.
A new owner is taking over the company and investing in a comprehensive roadmap that includes new games and products, branding activities and a new website.
The brand will be led by Dominic Law, who previously worked with the brand under NetDragon Websoft. Even during his tenure at NetDragon, Dominic Law advocated a greater focus on Neopets development.
Dominic Law led a management buyout of the brand from former parent company JumpStart Games and formed World of Neopia.
JumpStart Games, formally closed on July 1st. It acquired Neopets in 2014 and was previously owned by NetDragon Websoft.
After a series of negotiations, Dominic led a management buyout deal that brought in additional funding and unlocked necessary resources.
Going forward, Neopets will be under the control of a new, unified company: World of Neopia, Inc. The restructuring of Neopets was already initiated and prepared at the beginning of this year,
just months before the recently announced dissolution of the former parent company JumpStart Games.
“As a longtime Neopets fan myself, I am thrilled to help Neopets realize its fullest potential by putting the focus back on building and growing,” said Dominic Law, CEO of Neopets.
“With the help of our team here at Neopets, our investors and most importantly, our loyal community of fans, we will work together to bring Neopets back to its glory days and beyond.”
Neopets will be part at the San Diego Comic-Con party, and use this platform for further announcements about its roadmap and future projects.
