New leadership at Warner Bros. Discovery
With GBFE President Pam Lifford announcing her retirement to focus on her family and Julian Moon, longtime head of European Consumer Products, announcing his retirement, a new global franchise organization is being developed.
This was announced by Bruce Campbell, Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery. The plans affect the global structure for Global Brands, Franchises, and Experiences (GBFE), the division that includes WBD's worldwide consumer products, themed entertainment, franchise management and development, and DC Comics businesses.
Robert Oberschelp will be the new Head of Global Consumer Products. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, including positions at NBCUniversal, The Walt Disney Company, Williams-Sonoma and Quicksilver.
Preston Kevin Lewis, Head of Consumer Products for Latin America and Retail Management for the Americas, will assume additional responsibility for North America Consumer Products, reporting to Oberschelp.
Julian Moon, Head of Consumer Products for EMEA and Asia Pacific, has announced his retirement in 2024 after 33 years with the company. He will report to Oberschelp in the coming months and work with him and WBD leadership on succession planning.
Peter van Roden, Head of Global Themed Entertainment, will continue in his role leading licensed location-based entertainment, theme parks and personal experiences.
Campbell also announced he will recruit a new Global Head of Franchise who will work closely with Campbell and the senior creative leadership team at WBD.
The changes announced are effective November 27.
