Paramount expands gaming strategy with new studio launch

Paramount has launched Paramount Games Studio, a new unified gaming division that brings together all Paramount and Skydance gaming operations, including Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media. The company has appointed Tony Driscoll as President of the new studio while he continues in his role as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development.

Transform Paramount’s intellectual property

The new division has been created to transform Paramount’s intellectual property into immersive gaming experiences and to position gaming as a core pillar of the company’s content strategy alongside film, television and streaming. Paramount said the studio will develop titles ranging from casual games to AAA productions while also creating long-term franchise platforms and fan communities.

More than two decades of experience

Driscoll brings more than two decades of experience across entertainment, media and technology, including previous leadership roles at Epic Games, Warner Bros., Disney and AT&T. He will lead an executive team with expertise in game development, publishing, marketing, licensing and engineering.

Unify the company’s gaming efforts

According to Paramount, the new structure is intended to unify the company’s gaming efforts under a single vision focused on storytelling, fan engagement and franchise growth. Existing projects from Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media will continue under the Paramount Games Studio banner.
