Playmates Toys and Paramount to end TMNT partnership

Paramount and Playmates Toys have announced that they will not extend their long-running licensing partnership for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles merchandise. Playmates International has held the TMNT toy license since 1988, but after renewal talks that began in October, Paramount has formally confirmed that the agreement will end on Dec. 31, 2026.

Playmates will be allowed to continue selling remaining TMNT products for 90 days following the contract’s expiration. The brand has been a major contributor to Playmates Toys’ business in recent years, accounting for a significant share of its revenue, particularly in 2023 and 2024.
