Rocketship Launches Kickstarter for New Angry Birds Graphic Novel Series

Rocketship Entertainment has kicked off a Kickstarter campaign for its latest project: Angry Birds – A Graphic Novel Collection. Developed in collaboration with Rovio and facilitated by IMG Licensing, this initiative brings the beloved Angry Birds franchise into the world of comics, promising the deepest storytelling experience yet for fans of all ages.

The collection features three brand-new graphic novels—The Haunting of Hog House, Level Up, and Breaking the Bank—crafted by Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Tobin and Ringo-nominated artist Thom Zahler. Backers of the campaign can secure early access to these titles, along with exclusive merchandise such as a limited-edition Rocketship and an Angry Birds hoodie. Each book comes with two connecting cover options, a themed slipcase, and a signed bookplate from the creators.

This project expands Rocketship’s Bottlerocket! line for young readers, joining successful titles like Felix the Cat and Fox Fires. Following the campaign, a global retail release is planned, mirroring Rocketship’s previous hits like Let’s Play and Monsterverse. The campaign seeks $10,000 in funding and has already garnered strong support from fans.

With this move, Angry Birds joins a growing trend of popular games IPs leveraging crowdfunding to reach new audiences and deepen fan engagement through transmedia storytelling.
