Sony secures Labubu film rights

Sony Pictures has secured the film rights to the Labubu dolls.The popular Labubu plush toys could soon conquer Hollywood. 

Many details still unclear

The contract was signed just this week, so it is not yet clear who will direct the film or whether the planned film will be a live-action movie or an animated film. There is speculation that it could become a franchise if it is successful. As Sony did not want to comment on the matter, there are no official details yet.

The dolls created by artist Kasing Lung first became a trend in Asia in 2019, before becoming a global phenomenon.
