Spider-Man 2 breaks sales records for PlayStation Studios

"Marvel's Spider-Man 2" has broken the record for the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in the first 24 hours.

Customers purchased more than 2.5 million copies of the game, which launched Oct. 20, breaking the PlayStation Studios record.

Developed by Insomniac Games in partnership with Marvel Games and PlayStation Studios, the game allows players to take on the roles of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Players can shoot spider webs in their characters and swing through New York City while fighting crime and bad guys.

“On behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, I want to say thank you to the fans — we truly hope you are enjoying your time playing as Peter and Miles in this amazing adventure,” Eric Lempel, Sony’s SVP of global marketing, sales and business operations, said in the release.
