Spielwarenmesse Celebrates 75th Anniversary
From 27 to 31 January, the global toy industry will meet in Nuremberg for the 75th Spielwarenmesse. As a leading B2B event, the fair brings together retailers, manufacturers and media, reinforcing its role as a key platform for business, inspiration and networking. To mark the anniversary, organiser Spielwarenmesse eG is setting new content priorities and transforming the exhibition centre into a lively industry stage.
Global Industry Platform
Founded in 1949, the Spielwarenmesse has grown into a truly international marketplace. Its 75th edition welcomes 2,313 exhibitors from 68 countries, including 488 newcomers, across 18 halls and 13 product groups. A ‘Walk of Play’ exhibition and more than 30 anniversary activities will celebrate the fair’s history, with highlights such as Lego’s ‘Botanical Pop-up Experience’, Kosmos’ ‘Exit Escape Bus’ and Zapf Creation’s world-record baby doll presentation.
Trends, Innovation and Experiences
Key Specials provide orientation for the year ahead. The ToyTrends ‘AI Loves (to) Play’ and ‘Creative Mindfulness’ spotlight future-focused play concepts, while the Toys for Kidults area addresses a fast-growing market segment. Innovation is further showcased in the StartupArea, the New Product Gallery and the ToyAward ceremony. Interactive experiences continue in the Sports, Leisure and Outdoor Special, including pickleball test courts.
Knowledge, Networking and Celebration
The Spielwarenmesse combines product showcases with expert knowledge and personal exchange. The Toy Business Forum hosts talks on trends, digitalisation, AI and sustainability, alongside new formats such as the Value of Play Conference and the Game Inventors Convention. Anniversary networking highlights include the ToyNight, RedNight, daily ‘Let’s Connect!’ meetups and festive city illuminations across Nuremberg.
