Spin Master and Universal expand plush licensing deal across EMEA

Spin Master and Universal have expanded their licensing relationship with a new multi-property plush agreement covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Starting January 1, 2027, Spin Master will hold regional distribution rights for a range of Universal plush properties.

The portfolio

The portfolio includes DreamWorks Animation’s Gabby’s Dollhouse and How to Train Your Dragon, as well as Jurassic World, Jaws and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Spin Master will offer core, collectible, stylized and customized plush formats for the regional retail market.

The agreement builds on a 16-year relationship between Spin Master and Universal, which includes properties such as Gabby’s Dollhouse, How to Train Your Dragon, and Jurassic World, as well as the planned 2027 launch of the Hellbreak Trading Card Game.

Combined expertise

Spin Master’s SVP, International Sales & Marketing, Hedley Barnes, said the deal combines Universal’s portfolio with Spin Master’s plush expertise and EMEA infrastructure. John Revill, Regional Managing Director, EMEA, Universal Consumer Products & Games, said the expanded agreement will support the companies’ efforts to grow Universal’s plush business across the region.
