The Entertainer appoints Craig Inglis as Group Chief Customer Officer
The Entertainer has appointed Craig Inglis as its new group chief customer officer, with the appointment taking effect on 7 September.
Inglis has advised the toy retailer strategically since April. He previously held the role of chief customer officer at Merlin Entertainments and spent more than 12 years at John Lewis, where he was most recently customer director before leaving the business in 2020.
Joining the board of TEAL Group
As part of his new position, Inglis will join the board of TEAL Group and oversee customer, marketing, licensing, and brand‑building activities across The Entertainer and sister company, Addo Play.
His responsibilities will include developing long-term partnerships with global licensors and product brands, while also supporting the market development of the group’s own brands, including Meccano, Early Learning Centre, and Snuggle Buddies.
Newly created position
The newly created group‑wide position brings customer, brand, and marketing activities together under a single approach for the first time in the company’s history.
Malcolm Carter, The Entertainer’s director of digital and marketing, will report to Inglis. He will continue to oversee marketing, PR, and customer insight while also focusing on the transformation of the group’s digital capabilities.
Inglis said his focus will be on strengthening the company’s understanding of its customers, developing distinctive brands and experiences, and creating new partnerships and ways to engage consumers, with play at the centre of the strategy.
