The Entertainer reaches £4 Million charity milestone

The Entertainer has announced that it has raised £4 million for four leading children’s hospitals in the United Kingdom through its long-running partnership with micro-donation charity Pennies.

The milestone means that each of the four supported hospitals has now received £1 million through customer donations made at The Entertainer’s store checkouts.

Those hospitals are:

- Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool

- Birmingham Children’s Hospital

- Bristol Children’s Hospital

- Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity

The work behind raising donations

The retailer reached the target during the past month through micro-donations collected in more than 150 stores across the country.

The funds have helped support vital care, specialist equipment and services for seriously ill children and their families. Since becoming the first retailer to partner with Pennies in 2011, The Entertainer has enabled customers to round up cashless purchases to the nearest pound, with the additional amount donated to charity.

Total of £6.4 million

According to the company, the partnership has generated a total of £6.4 million for more than 500 charities over the past 15 years. The Entertainer said the achievement reflects both customer generosity and the success of the micro-donation model, while Pennies highlighted the impact of millions of small donations in supporting children’s healthcare and wellbeing.
