The London Book Fair to host FutureBook Conference in 2027

The London Book Fair has announced that the FutureBook Conference, organised in partnership with The Bookseller, will take place at Excel London on March 15, 2027, one day before The London Book Fair begins. The one‑day conference and awards event will be the first international edition of FutureBook to take place as part of the fair.

Exchange and discussions

The event will bring together publishing leaders and future leaders, as well as prominent figures from the international book, creative, media and commercial industries. Discussions will focus on major developments affecting the publishing sector, including artificial intelligence, diversity, equity and inclusion, censorship and fandom, and their implications for businesses and industry professionals. 

The programme

FutureBook will form part of a wider programme of conferences taking place on the same day, alongside The Writers’ Summit, HP ConTEXT and a training session organised by the Independent Publishers Guild. According to The Bookseller, the partnership combines its conference expertise with The London Book Fair’s international reach. 

FutureBook was founded in 2010 and brings together publishing leaders and aspiring leaders to discuss the future of the industry. For the 2027 edition, the organisers plan to broaden its international scope by engaging publishers, agents, authors, booksellers and entrepreneurs from around the world. The awards will also receive a more global focus. 

The London Book Fair will take place at Excel London from March 16 to 18, 2027.
