“The Monster at the End of This Story” arrives on Netflix and YouTube

Sesame Workshop is bringing the animated special The Monster at the End of This Story to Netflix and YouTube to mark the 55th anniversary of the original book.

The story follows Grover as he tries to stop viewers from reaching the end of the book because he is worried about the monster waiting there. In the original story, the final page reveals that the monster is Grover himself.

In the animated adaptation, Grover once again attempts to avoid reaching the end of the story. His friends Elmo, Cookie Monster, Rosita, and Abby help him face his fears and learn to be brave.

The special is available on Netflix and YouTube from September 7.

The animated story is based on the classic book The Monster at the End of This Book! by Jon Stone, illustrated by Michael Smollin. The story has also been developed into an interactive app designed to help children explore and understand big feelings.
