tonies appoints Mark McColgan as General Manager North America

tonies has appointed Mark McColgan as General Manager North America. He assumes leadership of the company’s largest market with immediate effect and will drive growth by expanding retail presence, building new partnerships, and strengthening customer engagement. McColgan reports to Christoph Frehsee, who has built up the North American business since 2020 and has served as Chief Revenue Officer since July 2025, overseeing global sales strategy and international expansion.

More than 20 years of leadership experience

Christoph Frehsee emphasized that McColgan’s experience and market expertise will be key to continuing and accelerating the strong momentum in the U.S. and Canada.

McColgan brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the toy and consumer goods industry. Most recently, he served at Mattel USA, where he was responsible for strategy and growth. Earlier in his career, he worked in retail and helped scale major brands such as Hot Wheels, Barbie, Fisher-Price, Cars, and Wicked in highly competitive markets.

Untapped potential in North America

Mark McColgan stated that tonies has created its own category with its audio-first approach and earned the trust of families worldwide. He sees significant untapped potential in North America and looks forward to further expanding the business together with the team.
