tonies launches Toniebox Lite
tonies has announced the launch of the Toniebox Lite, a second device that expands the company's ecosystem with a more compact and lightweight option while making the familiar tonies audio experience available at a lower price point.
The Toniebox Lite will launch first in North America, followed by the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Certified for children aged one and above and compatible with all Tonies, the new device provides families with immediate access to the curated audio content available on the tonies platform.
Strategic milestone
The launch represents a strategic milestone in tonies' evolution into a multi-device ecosystem that combines hardware, a growing portfolio of Tonies and accessories to support families throughout everyday life. Alongside the flagship Toniebox 2, which offers the full tonies content experience including screen-free Tonieplay gaming and additional family-focused features, the Toniebox Lite broadens the platform to address different family needs. Introduced just one year after the Toniebox 2, the new device reflects the company's focus on accelerating innovation.
CEO Tobias Wann said parents are increasingly seeking alternatives to passive screen time and that the company aims to make the benefits of audio accessible to more families through an expanding ecosystem tailored to different needs while offering the same stories, songs, characters and play experiences.
CXO Ginny McCormick said the portable design of the Toniebox Lite allows families to take the tonies experience wherever childhood happens, while providing existing users with another way to enjoy the platform and inviting new families to discover the benefits of learning, playing and growing through audio.
Screen-free, child-friendly tonies experience
The Toniebox Lite delivers the signature screen-free, child-friendly tonies experience in a smaller, lighter format. It is fully compatible with every Tonie released to date, giving access to a library of more than 1,500 Tonies and over 3,500 digital titles, including licensed content and tonies Originals®. As with the Toniebox 2, parents can use the tonies app to manage playback, set volume limits and access digital content.
With the introduction of the Toniebox Lite, tonies continues to invest in both hardware and content, including My First Tonies, interactive Tonieplay games and partnerships with brands such as Bluey and Pokémon.
Pre-orders for the Toniebox Lite begin today in the United States and Canada. First deliveries through tonies.com, walmart.com and Walmart stores will begin on August 22, with additional North American retail channels following in September and October. The device will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand from autumn 2026. At launch, children in all markets will also be able to personalize their Toniebox Lite with a range of protective covers.
