Ubisoft hires former Amazon games chief

Ubisoft has appointed former Amazon Games executive Christoph Hartmann as general manager of Creative House 2, the division responsible for franchises including Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell, as well as the recently acquired March of Giants. The appointment is part of the company’s ongoing restructuring aimed at strengthening its long-term game portfolio.

Hartmann brings more than two decades of industry experience, having most recently served as a senior executive at Amazon Games and previously co-founded and led 2K Games. Ubisoft said his background in game development, publishing and franchise management will support the strategic direction and long-term growth of Creative House 2.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said Hartmann’s experience and leadership make him well suited to help the company expand its brands and deepen player engagement as Ubisoft continues to reshape its development organization.
