UEFA, Fanatics and Toikido reveal UEFA EURO 2024 mascot
Less than a year before the start of UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany, Toikido, UEFA and Fanatics, the main licensee of UEFA EURO 2024, have presented the fluffy mascot of EURO 2024.
The mascot pays homage to the popular children's toy teddy bear, which originated in Germany in the early 20th century.
As part of the #MakeMoves campaign, the life-size teddy bear's mission is not only to support initiatives and partnerships, but also to encourage children across Europe to name their new furry friend, get active themselves and instill a love of soccer and its values.
The mascot will begin its #MakeMoves journey in schools across Europe, encouraging students to bring the mascot to life through their own physical activity and get it moving.
For the next two weeks, children in UEFA's Football in Schools program and fans can vote on the mascot's name on UEFA.com. Based on the German word "Bär," the four names to choose from are: Albärt, Bärnardo, Bärnheart and Herzi von Bär.
The creative competition is supported by digital games and content. For example, the mascot will lead an educational video series with social media influencers from across Europe, addressing topics such as nutrition, exercise, training and well-being.
The campaign's message will also be incorporated in a collaboration with Toikido in the upcoming "Pinata Smashlings" world on Roblox. The mascot's UEFA EURO 2024 in-game soccer island will be filled with challenges and tasks that require teamwork and problem solving.
