Ugee launched kids 3D printer
Ugee has launched the Funbox, its first desktop 3D printer designed for children and beginners, with a focus on safety, ease of use and AI-powered creativity. Aimed at families and STEAM education, the printer enables users to turn 2D ideas into printable 3D models through voice, text or hand-drawn inputs.

The company says Funbox is built around home-grade safety, featuring a fully enclosed design, a low-voltage power supply, a dual air filtration system and compliance with multiple international toy safety standards, including UL GREENGUARD, ASTM F963-23, EN71 and EN62115. Additional features include real-time hot-nozzle alerts and support for overnight printing in enclosed indoor environments.
Out-of-the-box operation
Designed for out-of-the-box operation, the printer comes fully assembled and requires no manual calibration. It supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, print speeds of up to 500 mm/s, remote monitoring via a built-in HD camera and automatic functions such as power-loss recovery and filament jam detection. The accompanying UFun app offers AI-assisted model generation, a library of printable projects and free STEM learning resources, while the printer supports standard 1.75 mm PLA filament for greater material flexibility.
