Universal Music Group and Hydro Flask launch sustainability partnership
Universal Music Group and Hydro Flask have announced a global partnership aimed at reducing single-use beverage waste across the music industry. The long-term collaboration will integrate reusable hydration solutions into recording studios, songwriting sessions, live events and artist experiences throughout Universal Music Group’s global network.
Launched in June
The initiative officially launched on June 1 with an event at Abbey Road Studios and will include activations featuring artists such as Gigi Perez and Sekou.
As part of the program, Hydro Flask will install hydration stations and reusable drinkware solutions at key UMG studio locations, including Abbey Road Studios, Chelsea Studios in Los Angeles and New York, East Iris and Capitol Studios. At Abbey Road Studios, Hydro Flask will serve as the official Sustainable Drinkware Partner through 2027.
Aiming to eliminate more than 10,000 single-use drinks
During its first year, the initiative aims to eliminate more than 10,000 single-use drinks, distribute over 2,000 reusable bottles and reduce beverage-container waste in participating studios by up to 80%. Hydro Flask will also become the title sponsor of international songwriting camps organized by Universal Music Publishing Group’s Global Creative Group.
In addition, the partners plan to launch exclusive fan products, including studio-inspired and artist-themed collections, with initial releases linked to Gigi Perez and Sekou. Further limited-edition products and artist collaborations are scheduled throughout the year.
