Warner Music Group and TikTok announce expanded agreement

Warner Music Group and TikTok have announced a comprehensive and unique partnership that will benefit WMG's artists and songwriters as well as TikTok's audience of billions around the world. 

The multi-year, multi-product agreement licenses Warner Recorded Music and Warner Chappell Music's portfolio to TikTok, TikTok Music, CapCut and TikTok's commercial music library.

 

The expanded collaboration, which extends the current partnership, is expected to benefit WMG artists and songwriters as well as TikTok users. 

Part of the agreement is to open up new ways to leverage TikTok's revenue generation and promotion capabilities, as well as a wealth of insights. 

For artists under contract with WMG, new revenue, marketing opportunities are expected to emerge and deeper engagement with the target audience on TikTok will be achieved. 

These include new opportunities for collaboration with TikTok brand partners, as well as monetization opportunities through merchandise or ticketing.

In addition, the companies have reached a licensing agreement for TikTok Music, the premium subscription streaming service recently launched in Indonesia and Brazil with plans for further growth in other markets.

The agreement also paves the way for WMG artists and songwriters to take advantage of unique promotional opportunities and connect with the growing user community of TikTok's video editing app CapCut.
