Webinar to explore Digital Product Passports and EU ESPR Requirements
Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are expected to change how product information is created, verified, shared and accessed across the textile and apparel value chain. Intertek will host a webinar on 29 September 2026 focusing on the evolving regulatory framework and the steps businesses can take to prepare for upcoming requirements.
Under the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), textiles and footwear have been identified as a priority product group. While the textile-specific Delegated Act and final data requirements for DPPs are still under development, companies are expected to prepare structured and accessible information covering areas such as product identity, materials and composition, supply-chain traceability, durability, recyclability, recycled content, substances of concern and potentially environmental performance.
Information and guidelines for businesses
The ESPR entered into force in 2024, while the first ESPR Working Plan for 2025–2030 prioritises textiles and footwear. According to the webinar announcement, technical and product-specific requirements are currently being developed, giving businesses an opportunity to assess their readiness, identify gaps in data and evidence, and begin preparing their products, suppliers and systems.
One-hour webinar
During the one-hour webinar, Intertek experts will explain the fundamentals of ESPR and DPPs, the current regulatory status, expected timelines and key milestones. The session will also examine emerging data requirements for textile DPPs, where relevant information is held across brands, suppliers, laboratories, certifications and other systems, and the role of testing, traceability and verification in establishing credible DPP data.
The webinar will also outline practical steps towards DPP readiness and explain how Intertek can support organisations through consulting, training, testing, assurance and DPP enablement.
The webinar will take place on 29 September 2026 at 10 am EST / 3 pm BST and will be held in English. It is aimed at organisations that are either beginning to explore Digital Product Passports or are already developing an implementation strategy.
