WildBrain: update on strategic focus to advance growth priorities

WildBrain has refined its strategy to strengthen long-term and sustainable growth. The company is focusing on expanding the value of its brands and franchises through partnerships, licensing, location-based entertainment, premium content production, and global distribution via the WildBrain Network.

To support this approach, WildBrain has reorganized its business into three key divisions: Franchise and Global Licensing, Content, and WildBrain Network, led by an experienced executive team.

CEO Josh Scherba emphasized that WildBrain will continue building its well-known kids’ and family franchises while investing in the company’s strongest growth opportunities.

Franchise and Global Licensing

This division combines franchise management, global partnerships, consumer products licensing, and location-based entertainment. It includes major brands such as Strawberry Shortcake, Teletubbies, Yo Gabba Gabba!, In the Night Garden, Inspector Gadget, and Degrassi.

Ben Peace has returned to lead the Franchise team as Executive Vice President, while Maarten Weck continues overseeing global licensing and partnership growth as Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of WildBrain CPLG.

Content

WildBrain continues investing in high-quality animation, live-action, and digital-first productions for both its own brands and external partners. The division includes development, pre-production, and production across WildBrain Studios, House of Cool, digital content, and live-action projects.

Stephanie Betts leads the division as Chief Content Officer. Additional leadership roles are held by Ricardo Curtis, Wes Lui, Morgana Duque, Daisy Wall, and Katie Wilson, helping create a more connected and flexible content organization.

WildBrain Network

The WildBrain Network includes more than 1,000 kids’ and family channels across YouTube, FAST, and AVOD platforms, generating over 17 billion viewing minutes per month. The network delivers popular franchise content in a safe and privacy-compliant environment.

The division is led by Kate Smith as EVP, WildBrain Network. Its main focus is expanding and monetizing WildBrain’s global audience through advertising and media partnerships.
