Zelda Tears of kingdom dominates US game market

In May, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom dominated sales in the US games industry.

According to evaluations by analyst Mat Piscatella of Circana, Tears of the Kingdom achieved growth in all market segments (hardware, software and accessories). Nintendo itself does not provide information on digital sales figures, but purely in terms of sales, Zelda is already the second biggest game of the year, behind Hogwarts Legacy.

Following the release of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game in early May, Warner's title jumped from No. 6 on the April charts to No. 2.

Tears of the Kingdom was the only new release to make it into the top 20 on the software charts in May. Its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, rose from No. 28 in April to No. 13.

Circana stated that hardware spending reached $338 million in May - the highest total for a May month since $427 million in 2008.
