Zuru introduces pregnant doll featuring a slime-filled amniotic sac
Toy manufacturer Zuru has unveiled the My Mini Mom & Baby Surprise Doll, a new playset that includes a pregnant doll with a removable stomach containing a miniature baby inside a slime-filled amniotic sac. To "deliver" the baby, children remove the doll’s stomach, take out the sac, and squeeze it until the baby comes out. Each set also includes a swaddle blanket for the newborn.
The toy has attracted widespread attention online after a viral unboxing video demonstrated how the birth feature works. Reactions on social media have been mixed, with some people describing the doll as an educational way to introduce childbirth concepts, while others found its realistic design and play mechanics unusual or unsettling.
The doll is currently available for pre-order in the United Kingdom. According to the report, Zuru had not commented publicly on the online reactions at the time of publication.
