Safety Redefined: The toy industry is facing far-reaching changes. Antony Kirrane and Lars Vogt of Toy Industries of Europe (TIE) spoke at the Toy Business Forum about the implications of the new Toy Safety Directive. They also provided an overview of the most important changes and answered manufacturers’ questions regarding the 54-month transition period.
About Antony Kirrane und Lars Vogt
Antony Kirrane is the Senior Technical Officer at Toy Industries of Europe (TIE), with over 20 years of experience in product safety and regulation. He joined TIE in 2025 and is responsible for product safety, technical regulation and standardisation issues at TIE.
Lars Vogt is Director of Policy at Toy Industries of Europe (TIE), with 15 years of experience in public affairs. He joined TIE in 2016 and is responsible for relations with EU institutions with a focus on issues like toy safety, EU Single Market and market surveillance. He has a MSc degree in Economics from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
