5 days full of new experiences, business opportunities, fun, intensive networking and lasting impressions - from 30 January to 3 February, the 73rd edition of Spielwarenmesse successfully expanded its position as the only global industry event. Here, exhibitors and visitors had room for encounters, innovations and unforgettable moments.

The exhibitors in numbers

The event was also a great success for the participating companies. A total of 95% of exhibitors rated their participation in Spielwarenmesse 2024 as important to very important, 91% of exhibitors were satisfied to very satisfied with their attendance at Spielwarenmesse 2024 and 83% are already planning to participate again in 2025. Especially the range of services, the events and the supporting program were rated good and very good by 91% and 93% of exhibitors respectively.

The visitors in numbers

A high relevance of the visit to the world's leading trade fair for toys was seen by 89% of the participants and 91% rated the visit as very satisfactory. 89% of the trade visitors are involved in the purchase decision, which confirms the very high quality of the trade visitors this year. 70% of trade visitors are already planning to return in 2025.

Innovations and trends: an overview of the most exciting new products

Visitors had the opportunity to explore and try out numerous exhibitor highlights in various themed areas, as the "Specials by Spielwarenmesse" presented compact, innovative products on various focal points. The spectrum ranged from promising new products at the New Product Gallery to sustainable toys at Toys go Green and outstanding offers in the model railroad and model construction categories. 

It's all about kidults!

The media and crowd-puller at Spielwarenmesse 2024 was the new special "Life's a Playground - Toys for Kidsters, Kidults & Co." in Hall 3A. The interactive special area offered plenty of product inspiration from the four categories Collectibles, Premium Collectibles, Creative Fantasy and Tabletop Games, which no toy store should be without. A wide variety of games could be tested in detail under the guidance of experienced promoters at changing live events. In addition, the neighboring Toy Business Forum hosted exciting presentations on the topic of kidults by top international speakers. Experience top speakers and gain toy know-how

The most interesting minds from a wide range of fields shared their knowledge with the audience live on site or via stream in their presentations at the Toy Business Forum. From Tuesday to Saturday, a total of 22 speakers gave 25 presentations to inspire the 2,141 visitors in Hall 3A and on the screens. The focus was on the top topics of trends, artificial intelligence, digitalization, influencer marketing, customer loyalty and sustainability. Inspiring presentations on our highlight topic "Life's a Playground - Toys for Kidsters, Kidults and Co." as well as two live podcasts for the first time completed the program.

Press, parties, inventors and end consumers - the exciting events at Spielwarenmesse 2024

The first day of the fair was all about the PressDay. The event was opened by an atmospheric marching band and walking act parade in NCC Ost. Afterwards, over 60 exhibitors offered media professionals and content creators a variety of activities directly at their stands. The new products were presented in the form of anniversary shows, prize draws and selfie spots with media impact.

At the RedNight on Thursday, the industry celebrated together at over 100 stand parties after the end of the trade fair. A wide variety of highlights such as bands, DJs, unusual catering and delicious cocktail creations were offered at the stands. The RedNight has successfully established itself as a highlight of the fair and should not be missed at the next Spielwarenmesse.

The International Game Inventors' Convention is where the editorial teams of the game publishing houses meet concentrated creativity in Nuremberg. The publishing teams quickly learnt that it's worth planning the Friday of the fair for the 140 participating game designers. At the second edition parallel to the Spielwarenmesse, they found game in NCC Mitte ideas from 18 countries.

The OPEN DAY Model Railways and Model Construction on the last day of the fair was another highlight for both exhibitors and visitors in Hall 7A. On this day, end customers had the opportunity to discover all the exhibitors' new products - over 3,200 consumers enthusiastically took up the offer.
