Lifestyle products – floral and animal-themed

Waking up – Snapshots – Cuddling – Falling asleep

By Gabriela Kaiser

Cute animal motives and colourful flowers are perennial favourites as home accessories and decorations. This is even more evident in lifestyle products for children: hardly any night light, cushion or soft toy at the Toy Fair was without soft fabric, a flower shape or animal ears. Children love exploring nature and enjoy surrounding themselves with their favourite animal – which may well be an exotic one.

An animal with three talents

„SoundGlow" by Kiddoboo is more than just a cute-looking night light. When gently touched, the night light changes colour; in the morning, a favourite sound of the child’s own choosing reliably wakes them up; and in the evening, the built-in sleep trainer helps the child develop their own bedtime routine. The soothing white noise ensures peaceful nights, during which little ones learn, step by step, to fall asleep on their own. Designed as a dog, bear or dinosaur, “SoundGlow” shows children aged 4 and over all the important information about the day at a glance and, at the same time, helps them develop a sense of time. The animal is made from soft, durable silicone that can even withstand a fall from the bedside table.

Snapshots for little hands

The ‘Zoo Friends’ collection from The Zoofamiliy offers the perfect first camera for little explorers aged 3 and over. It comes with a cute, interchangeable silicone case in the shape of animals such as a fox, koala, giraffe and unicorn. The 24-megapixel digital camera is a video and photo camera in one and has been designed with simplicity, safety and little hands in mind to encourage early photography skills. The PVC-free, phthalate-free and eco-friendly silicone case isn’t just cute – it also protects against drops and dirt. When fully charged, the camera can take more than 2,000 photos or record for around 2 hours. A 32 GB memory card is included.

From a seat cushion to a play ball

„Flower" by Kooja is more than just a cushion. Little ones can really make themselves comfortable on this large flower, measuring 65 x 58 x 20 cm, whether sitting or lying down. Children can also remove the flower head from the cushion, leaving them with a soft ball to play with. The fabric cover is made from a durable, easy-care polyester-nylon blend, whilst the soft filling is made from pure polyester. Thanks to the subtle colours – Almond Milk, Misty Taupe, Sunflower Bloom and Dusty Rose – the seat cushion blends harmoniously into Mum and Dad’s living area and is welcome to stay there too.

Watering was yesterday

The flowering Greenhouse hanging plant from Jazwares brightens up the children’s room and brings a touch of greenery into it. This cuddly plush plant, made from recycled materials, is easy to look after – conveniently, it doesn’t need watering – yet it still blooms all year round. The flowerpot features an embroidered, relaxed, smiling face, turning the plant into a green friend. It measures 8 inches and is also perfect for adding a touch of greenery to the living room. Should it ever need a spot of water, you can simply hand-wash it and leave it to air-dry. With other plants from the ‘Greenhouse by Russ’ collection, you can create your very own cosy plush garden. If you like to cuddle your plant, it’s best to opt for potted plant versions that aren’t hung up.

Small wild animals

The little cosy blankets in Universal Knitwears Safari collection feature lovingly designed animal-shaped hoods with embroidered faces. Wrapped up in them, babies and toddlers are not only kept warm – including their heads – but are also transformed into a cute zebra, crocodile, tiger or monkey. Knitted from cotton and lined with cosy polyester sherpa, the fabric is warm and gentle on little ones’ sensitive skin. Measuring 80 × 80 centimetres, the blankets are perfect for snuggling up after a bath, during a nap or when out and about. They also look lovely when folded up, so you can simply leave them on the sofa when not in use.

A soothing play of waves

MOBs ‘Wavy Light’ transforms a child’s bedroom into a little underwater world. A projection lamp casts gentle waves across the walls and ceiling, whilst the built-in speaker plays ocean-themed white noise. This special lamp isn’t just for use as part of an evening bedtime routine. Even during the day, when your child is looking for a quiet corner to wind down after playing, the moving waves provide a moment’s respite. If they’d rather listen to their own music or a bedtime story, they can simply connect their smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. Using the remote control, your child can adjust the light and volume to suit their own preferences. Wireless and rechargeable via USB, the lamp can also be moved to another room if needed.

Whether it’s floral shapes, tactile noses and ears, or embroidered faces – animals and flowers transform every lifestyle product for the nursery into a little friend to cherish.
